聚(丙烯酸)（PAA）本身具有吸湿性和脆性，无色，Tg接近106oC。在200-250oC温度下，它会脱水变成不溶的交联聚合物酸酐。干燥PAA在水中的溶解度随着温度升高而增加。浓的PAA水溶液本质上是触变性的。

应用

PAA可用于制备纳米羟磷灰石聚丙烯酸（Hap/PAAc）生物复合材料。†PAA的其他潜在应用： 研究聚乙烯醇/PAA共聚物水凝胶中的溶质扩散†，合成聚(N-异丙基丙烯酰胺)-嵌段-PAA共聚物，它对温度和pH刺激都有反应†，制备低聚(甲基丙烯酸甲酯)/PAA嵌段共聚物，用于胶束递送疏水性药物†，以及作为粘合剂的增稠剂。
