MC-Media Pad^® EC

The MC MEDIA PAD^® offers a convenient solution for rapidly and routinely testing microbial contamination in raw and in-process food and beverage materials, as well as finished products. The MC-Media Pad^® is a pre-sterilized, ready-to-use dry culture device, simplifying testing and minimizing the quantity of waste. The media pad consists of a unique adhesive sheet, a test pad coated with medium and water absorption polymer, and a transparent cover film. MC-Media Pad^® E. coli and Coliform Count is for simultaneous enumeration of E. coli and the total number of coliforms present in food or beverage samples. The growth medium coats the media pad, and a redox indicator is present for detection. Once inoculated onto the test pad, the liquid sample automatically diffuses through the whole pad by capillary action.

To determine the microbial count in food and beverage products. MC MEDIA PAD^® E. coli & Coliform is intended to simultaneously detect and enumerate coliforms and E. coli through special medium composition and specific chromogenic substrates for both β-galactosidase and β-glucuronidase. While improving the workflow, it also ensures accurate and reliable results.

If target organisms are present, coliform grow as red-purple/navy color and E. coli colonies on the test pad.
