General description

连接蛋白-4也被称为脊髓灰质炎病毒受体相关蛋白4（PRR4或PVRL4）。连接蛋白以其为单纯疱疹病毒的受体而闻名。连接蛋白-4是一种免疫球蛋白样跨膜细胞粘附蛋白，似乎与N-钙黏着蛋白一起在神经管形成中也起作用。连接蛋白-4通过细胞内部的afadin与肌动蛋白细胞骨架相连。连接蛋白-4主要存在于人胎盘中，尽管在小鼠中表达广泛。连接蛋白-4似乎主要粘附于表达连接蛋白-1的细胞，反之亦然。
