General description
The Human PAI-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor-1) ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human PAI-1 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants. PAI-1 is 45kDa serine proteinase inhibitor. It inhibits plasmogen activator and affects the fibrinolytic process, as a result of which it leads to thrombosis. Reduced fibrinolysis is observed in ischemic heart disease. While elevated PAI-1 levels are noticed in myocardial infarction. PAI-1 is associated with various physiological processes including wound healing, sepsis, insulin resistance, obesity, atherosclerosis, tumor angiogenesis, bone remodeling, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis and chronic stress.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a threatening, multiaetiological syndrome encompassing a variety of forms and damage patterns. AKI lacks sufficiently specific diagnostic tools to evaluate the distinct combination of pathophysiological events underlying each case, which limits personalized and optimized handling.
