Gene Information
human ... CBL(867)
General description
120kDa
Casitas B-lineage lymphoma (Cbl), is an oncogene which causes pre B-cell lymphomas. It participates in the regulation of cell signaling and has the ability to interact with many proteins such as receptor/non-receptor PTK′s, structural proteins, and novel proteins that are not well understood. Diseases associated with Cbl are autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and leukemia. By modifying Cbl′s ability to bind to oncogenic proteins, Cbl may be developed into an anti-cancer tool and in the near future used in therapeutic intervention.
Immunogen
Epitope: a.a. 878-906
GST fusion protein corresponding to residues 878-906 of human Cbl
Application
Immunocytochemistry:
5-10 μg/mL of a previous lot showed positive immunostaining for Cbl in 3T3/A31 cells fixed with ice cold Methanol/Ethanol [1:1] for 1 minute.
Immunoprecipitation:
2 μg of a previous lot immunoprecipitated Cbl from 1 mg of a mouse 3T3/A31 cell RIPA lysate, as reported by an independent laboratory.

Analysis Note
Control
Positive Antigen Control: Catalog #12-305, 3T3/A31 lysate. Add 2.5 μL of 2-mercapto-ethanol/100 μL of lysate and boil for 5 minutes to reduce the preparation. Load 20 μg of reduced lysate per lane for minigels.

The murine Cas NS-1 retrovirus carries the v-cbl oncogene and induces pro-B, pre-B and myeloid tumors in mice inoculated at birth. The human homolog of v-cbl is located on chromosome 11q23.3, which is in the region of translocation breakpoints in
