General description
Approx. 58 kDa
Calcineurin is a serine/threonine protein phosphatase involved in the mediation of signal transduction in a wide variety of cellular responses. Calcineurin has been linked to Pmk1 MAP kinase and PI pathways, as well as to members of the small GTPase Rab/Ypt family and Type II myosin. Furthermore, calcineurin participates in the transduction of extracellular signals to the nucleus by dephosphorylation of members of the NFAT family of transcription factors. These linkages demonstrate calcineurin′s multifunctional capabilities in the regulation of calcium signaling. The Aα form of calcineurin is a major catalytic subunit gene isoform of calcineurin in most tissues that allows differentiation of Aα from the Aβ and Aγ isoforms.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugagted synthetic peptide corresponding to Calcineurin Aβ.
Application
Detect Calcineurin Aβ using this Anti-Calcineurin Aβ Antibody validated for use in WB, IH.

Biochem/physiol Actions
Recognizes the Aβ (polyproline) form of calcineurin, a less abundant gene isoform of calcineurin in most tissues. Allows differentiation of Aβ from the A α and A-γ isoforms. Reacts with calcineurin of all mammalian species.
Physical form
Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH7.4) 150 mM NaCl with 40% gylerol. Contains no preservative.
Preparation Note
Store at -20°C for up to 12 months in undiluted aliquots; at this temperature the solution will
remain unfrozen. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
