Anti-phospho-RalA Antibody (Ser194)

RalA and RalB are Ras-family small monomeric GTPases that can be activated through a Ras-dependent mechanism. The two are highly homologous (89%). Ral proteins are proximal effectors of oncogenic Ras and their activity is needed to support tumorigenesis in certain cancers. Mutants of Ras that are defective in activating all known Ras effectors except Ral GEF are still able to induce invasive phenotypes in transfected cells, suggesting a role for Ral in these processes. RalA is required for anchorage-independent proliferation and tumorigeneisis by driving exocyst assembly and polarized exocytosis in epithelial cells.

~25 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may be observed at ~20 kDa, 100 kDa, and 130-170 kDa in some cell lysates.

This antibody recognizes RalA phosphorylated at Ser194.

Evaluated by Western Blot in PANC10.05 cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected phospho-RalA in PANC10.05 cell lysate. Peptide inhibition was observed with the addition of phospho peptides but not with the addition of non-phospho peptides.
