General description
Iron containing compound of porcine origin that can induce H2O2-dependent lipid peroxidation. Reported to increase the number and size of myotubes and the frequency of myotube contractions. Induces heme-oxygenase-1 activity and reduces renal injury induced by mercuric compounds.

Application
- Porphyrins ameliorate spinocerebellar ataxia type 36 GGCCTG repeat expansion-mediated cytotoxicity: Discusses the therapeutic potentials of hemin chloride in neurological disorders, highlighting its role in mitigating cytotoxic effects associated with genetic mutations, significant for advancing neurodegenerative disease treatments (Hirayanagi K et al., 2021).
- Indirect Quantification of Glyphosate by SERS Using an Incubation Process With Hemin as the Reporter Molecule: A Contribution to Signal Amplification Mechanism: Demonstrates the application of hemin chloride in enhancing signal detection in spectroscopic analysis, important for improving analytical methods in environmental and food sciences (López-Castaños KA et al., 2020).

In an open microfluidic device, we investigate protein polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) separation performance on single-cell lysate. Single-cell protein electrophoresis is performed in a thin layer of polyacrylamide (PA) gel into which microwells are molded. Individual cells are isolated in
