Application
Anti-CD63 Antibody, clone RFAC4 is an antibody against CD63 for use in FC, IP, WB, IH, IH(P).
Flow cytometric studies of CD63 expression
Immunoprecipitation
Western blotting of CD63 antigen from solubilized platelet proteins
Suitable for formalin fixed paraffin wax embedded tissue sections. HIER and proteolytic pretreatment may not be necessary. Users should confirm specificity and pretreatment for their particular application.
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Biochem/physiol Actions
This antibody reacts with a 53 kDa protein which form a part of the family of tetraspan moieties. The antigen was originally designated as a lysosomal membrane protein characterized as an activation dependent platelet surface antigen. In fact the CD63 antigen has a diverse distribution on the surface and in the cytoplasm of many cell types including lymphoid, myeloid, endothelial cells and melanoma.
Physical form
Format: Purified
The monoclonal is presented at a concentration of 100μg/1ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 10mM sodium azide and 1mg/ml bovine serum albumin. We recommend that each laboratory determine an optimum working titre for use in its particular application.
Preparation Note
For use within 1 month of purchase store at +4°C, for long term storage aliquot antibody into small volumes and store at -20°C.

The excessive production of type I IFNs is a hallmark and a main pathogenic mechanism of many autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). In these pathologies, the sustained secretion of type I IFNs is dependent on the improper activation
