General description

Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II (EMAPII) is a 22 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine that regulates TNFβ signaling. The mature EMAPII is formed from a functional EMAPII precursor protein in response to apoptosis, and other forms of cell stress. Previous studies have reported that it may decrease the growth of tumors by inhibiting angiogenesis. EMAPII has also been implicated in autoimmune diseases. However, EMAPII is also involved in a range of normal biological processes. It is a component of the multisynthase complex that binds tRNA and plays an essential role in protein translation, and may also play a role in lung development.
~43 kDa observed. This antibody recognizes the mature form of this protein at ~23 kDa and the larger pro EMAP II form at ~43 kDa which is secreted based on lysate.

Immunogen

His-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to mouse EMAPII.

Application

Anti-EMAPII Antibody, clone M7/1, (Preservat ive free) detects level of EMAPII & has been published & validated for use in Western Blotting, Activity Assay & IHC.

Biochem/physiol Actions

This antibody recognizes the mature form of this protein at ~23 kDa and the larger pro EMAP II form at ~43 kDa which is secreted based on lysate.

Physical form

Format: Purified
Protein G Purified
Purified rat monoclonal IgG2aκ in buffer containing PBS without preservatives.

Preparation Note

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

Analysis Note

Control
HeLa cell lysate
Evaluated by Western Blot in HeLa cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected EMAPII in 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
