General description

The 12 µm Millicell® insert is designed for cellular migration and invasion assays, featuring a polycarbonate membrane compatible with various extracellular matrix coatings like laminin and collagen. Its porous structure enables effective migration and invasion studies for cells larger than 10 µm, including induced pluripotent stem cells.

Application

  • Cell migration and invasion
  • Transmigration studies of immune cells
  • Chemotaxis
  • Supernatant separation or filtration
  • Specialized cell generation, e.g. SC-β

Features and Benefits

  • Compatible with multiple extracellular matrix coatings, supporting diverse assay needs.
  • Pores sized to allow migration and invasion of larger cells while facilitating supernatant collection for secretion analysis.
  • Essential tool for generating stem cell-derived pancreatic β cells that respond to glucose with high insulin secretion.
  • Enables detailed study of cellular behavior and molecule secretion during treatments.
