Biochem/physiol Actions
某些生物体如小鼠、大鼠和爪蟾具有两个非等位基因型胰岛素基因，即 Ins1 和 Ins2—它们都是官能性的。它们分别在胰腺中编码以 1:2 比例产生的胰岛素。这两个基因在小鼠中是差异表达的。Ins1 基因定位于小鼠 19 号染色体的端粒区。胰腺中合成的胰岛素对维持葡萄糖稳态至关重要。Ins-1 和 Ins-2 基因敲除导致缺乏胰岛素的小鼠出现糖尿病、酮症酸中毒、肝脏脂肪变性和生长迟缓。
